About Ian Peter

Internet expert and historian Ian Peter became involved in the early beginnings of the Internet in Australia and Asia-Pacific from 1986. Currently living in the Byron Bay hinterland, Australia, he is involved with worldwide Internet organisations, provides strategic advice on Internet issues, and maintains a key interest in the early history of the Internet.

Ian Peter was on line in 1985, started forming global networks in 1986, and in 1989 became a founding director of the Association for Progressive Communications, which was responsible for early internet establishment in many countries. Ian Peter provided his first guest lectures on Internet history in 1998.
